RSVPDiscover the transformative power of clay, glaze and fire in 1250°, a new exhibition by ceramic artist Amy Benzie at The Suttie Arts Space. About Grampian Hospitals Art Trust invited ceramic artist Amy Benzie to explore the transformative qualities of clay through the interplay of process, material, and fire. Drawing on her interest in the relationship between art, science and experimentation, Amy developed a body of work that celebrates the rich variations, textures and colours that emerge through the making and firing process. The resulting installation reflects the beauty of natural materials while embracing the patience, care and unpredictability that are integral to working with clay. The exhibition title, 1250°, refers to the minimum temperature needed to mature the clay during firing, a moment of transformation where raw material becomes something entirely new.
