About event

Two years after his death, we celebrate the work of British science fiction titan Christopher Priest with the release of 2 posthumous books Two years after his death, we celebrate the work of British science fiction titan Christopher Priest with the release of two posthumous books, one finished by his wife Nina Allan. As well as being the author of numerous science fiction novels including The Prestige, adapted by Christopher Nolan, Christopher Priest was also a critic of the genre, and some of his essays have been collected by Nina Allan with Niall Harrison, former editor of Strange Horizons and Locus reviewer, in The Recollections. When he died, he was working on a biography of fellow author of the weird and his own inspiration J. G. Ballard; Nina Allan has completed the biography and woven into it her own love for and grief over Christopher, in beautiful fashion. Nina and Niall will join us to discuss Christopher's work, his enduring legacy on other writers, the writers who influenced him, especially J. G. Ballard, and the person behind the pen, Christopher himself.
