About event

A warm, intimate literary concert: yael merlini and Sarah Stefanutti weave together poems in 3 languages, with live music by Zhenja Oks. The evening will unfold through the female body as an archive of memory and displacement, tracing emotional landscapes across different geographies and voices. A layered experience of listening, where spoken word and music move together. yael merlini works at the intersection of poetry and visual art, exploring linguistic diaspora and the body as political matter. Based in Berlin, she writes across Italian, English, and Yiddish, and lives and works in Berlin. Her publications include Di casa in casa (Arcipelago Itaca), La lingua divisa (Terra d’ulivi), and Manifesto for a Non-Aesthetics of Love (Cut Press). Forthcoming: Doykeit come scelta – contemporary Yiddish poetry in Berlin . She co-leads Poets Read Poets , a monthly reading circle on Yiddish women's poetry.. Sarah Stefanutti is a poet and visual artist whose writing explores the relationship between body, loss, and attention, threading through themes of migration, plural identities, and care. She is the author of the poetry collections Parole attraverso l’Europa (Albatros), Confini (Ladolfi), and Il bosco e una campana (Pequod). She is currently working on La ferita madre , a poetic and visual project centred on the experience of grief. Zhenja Oks is a composer and musician who sets poems by authors from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds to music in a multitude of languages.
