RegisterCome and join us to discover the life and work of Philip Larkin, often chosen as 'The Nation's Best-loved Poet' Philip Larkin (1922-1985), cuts an intriguing and sometimes controversial figure in twentieth century English poetry. He wrote only four collections in his life. But on this slender ouput he is considered one of the great poets of our age. He cultivated an image of the most ordinary of men. But behind this facade, there was a complex contradictory personality. Actor Daniel Wain will read a selection of his poems, and Kevin Harrison will narrate key events of his biography to explore a reputation that has fallen and risen in the forty years since his early death.
