RSVP"NowHere will open the exhibition Encomendação das Almas by Sarah Nazareth as part of Lisbon Art Weekend 2026. On November 7, between 5pm and 9pm, a guided tour with the artist and curator will take place, offering the public an opportunity to engage closely with the work and the ideas that shape the exhibition. Sarah Nazareth holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Federal Institute of Pernambuco (IFPE) in Recife, Brazil. She completed her training in painting and drawing at Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual in Lisbon, where she is currently enrolled in the Advanced Course in Visual Arts Almada. Her work focuses on painting, exploring the boundary between figuration and abstraction, with a particular interest in the relationship between memory, forgetting and the ways in which these manifest themselves in the image. Her research pays special attention to the sky and the atmosphere, capturing occurrences of light and luminous phenomena that seem to acquire autonomy within the pictorial space. Through experimentation with different techniques and supports, the artist investigates the materiality of painting, bringing together layers, overpainting and traces of previous gestures to create rhythmic variations across the surface. In this process, she establishes a visual tension in which the elements depicted oscillate between presence and disappearance. Encomendação das Almas presents a series of paintings that explore the sky and landscape as fields of perception and image-making. The exhibition focuses on the observation of transient luminous and atmospheric phenomena, which emerge unpredictably and produce subtle variations in light and atmosphere, inviting viewers to experience the delicate interplay between the visible and the evanescent.
