Assemblage Picnic and Community Dinner

Drawing on the extensive collection of eclectic objects gathered by the STOL artistic collective, we propose a second edition of the participatory experiment “Assemblage Picnic.” About A variety of objects—computers, dolls, laboratory glassware, scraps of wood, toys, wires, and brightly coloured geometric shapes of obscure provenance—will be mixed up and thrown together on a table in the Malmaison courtyard. Using tools, screws, glue, string, and innovative, highly specific ways of connecting objects, participants will create works, Frankensteins, and collages of objects that have lost their original function. In exchange, they acquire poetry and meaning, becoming evocative or humorous. They retain a suggestion of their original purpose, but this is now suspended in the practical uselessness of an art object. I promise an action that is never truly completed. The event will create an informal context for meeting, making, and exchange, in which each participant will create an object using the fragments provided. Installation
