Stephanie Blythe is a world renowned mezzo-soprano, “...one of the powerhouse voices of our time…” Weather Update: Due to the snowstorm, our concert by Stephanie Blythe, scheduled for Sun, Feb 22, has been rescheduled to April 19th February 22nd tickets will be honored for the new date. Join us for an exciting Afternoon Music Concert on Sunday, April 19th, 2026 at 3pm in the Sanctuary of Beacon, 4 Waldron Ave in Summit NJ. Stephanie Blythe, the world renowned opera mezzo-soprano with pianist Kayo Iwama, present Beautiful Dreamers : Ellis Island Vignettes. The program will include Alan Smith’s song cycle based on first-person accounts of immigrants. Ticket Pricing: Premium seating (Center section of the main floor and in the first row of the balcony center. No assigned seating.) $40 General Admission seating (Side sections of the main floor, first row of the the balcony sides) $30 Limited Visibility seating (second row of the balcony sides ) $30 Student seating (side sections of the main floor and the balcony) Free Stephanie Blythe has ‘left an indelible mark on operatic roles and the art-song repertoire’. She is a multi-talented mezzo-soprano, appearing on the major opera stages of the world, creating comedic and dramatic characters from Wagnerian women to the father in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. Her voice has been described as ‘voluptuous and powerful, with an extraordinary ability to express the essence of music and text’. Kayo Iwama is an acclaimed pianist/vocal coach, an Associate Director of the Graduate Vocal Art Program at Bard Conservatory and on the Juilliard faculty. She has concertized extensively throughout the world including at Seiji Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood, the Kennedy Center, Tokyo’s Yamaha Hall, and the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. afternoonmusic.org Afternoon Music is a supporting organization of Beacon Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Summit, NJ.
