The program will include Alan Smith’s song cycle based on first-person accounts of immigrants. Her voice has been described as ‘voluptuous and powerful, with an extraordinary ability to express the essence of music and text’. Kayo Iwama is an acclaimed pianist/vocal coach, an Associate Director of the Graduate Vocal Art Program at Bard Conservatory and on the Juilliard faculty.
