Beyond Colour – exploring nature: Sophie Garwood

A solo exhibition of vibrant abstract mixed-media paintings by Sussex artist Sophie Garwood, inspired by the meadows, skies, shingle and sea of the coast and South Downs. Includes a new series of large seascapes. About Sussex artist and former art teacher Sophie Garwood presents Beyond Colour – exploring nature, a solo exhibition of vibrant abstract mixed-media paintings at the Skyway Gallery in the Shoreham Centre. Inspired by the landscapes around her studio near the beach – the shingle, the sea, the big coastal skies and the gentle hills of the South Downs – the exhibition brings together bold, colour-filled meadow and flower paintings alongside a new series of large seascapes, on show for the first time. More than 40 original works are on display, from small framed pieces to large canvases, all available to buy – perfect for an original Christmas gift by a local artist. Everyone is welcome at the Private View on Thursday 26 November, 6–9pm, to meet the artist. Open Monday–Saturday, 10am–4pm. Free entry. Opposite Shoreham Library. Read more Toggle Mixed media Painting
