RSVPIn the monumental hall of Casa Scânteii, the former printing house of the Romanian communist press, Christian Jankowski challenges conventional curatorial practices. About In the monumental hall of Casa Scânteii, the former printing house of the Romanian communist press, internationally acclaimed artist Christian Jankowski challenges conventional curatorial practices. The selection of works is guided not by theoretical or market considerations, but by a Romanian-Roma witch supported by her team. By consciously giving up artistic control, Jankowski transforms the selection process itself into a performance, bringing together the rational legacy of Scânteia+ with mystical and cultural traditions. The exhibition will present a new work alongside other artworks by the artist, spanning the last twenty five years of his career. The new artwork includes a video and a series of photographs presenting rituals performed in Casa Scânteii that are trying to influence the reception of the work itself. The spells reflect love, visibility, and success. How can a group of witches influence the power of art? Witnessed and facilitated by Margaux Bonopera, produced by Cristina Vasilescu. Curator: Mihaela Minca
