A playful Physical Theatre Workshop that blends text with dance through games & creative writing. Expect somatic experimentation & team work (ENG below) Ένα workshop σωματικού θεάτρου που φέρνει μαζί φωνή, κίνηση και κείμενο μέσα από παιχνίδι και συλλογική εξερεύνηση. Θα δουλέψουμε με εργαλεία από Capoeira, παραδοσιακούς χορούς και αυτοσχεδιασμό & ασκήσεις δημιουργικής γραφής που μετατρέπονται σε κίνηση. Η πρακτική βασίζεται σε πρόσφατη δουλειά μου (Marina Abramović Institute, NOSTOS ) και την έρευνά μου στο Λονδίνο, και ανοίγει έναν χώρο για να δούμε το σώμα ως εργαλείο έκφρασης, ακρόασης και δημιουργίας. 👉 Δεν χρειάζεται professional experience. Σύντομο Βιογραφικό Η Μαριάννα Σφυρίδη είναι devising performer και ερευνήτρια με έδρα μεταξύ Λονδίνου, Σάο Πάολο και Αθήνας. Είναι graduate MA στη Dance Performance από το London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) με Distinction, μεταπτυχιακού στη Φαρμακευτική από το King’s College London και πτυχίου χορού από τo Χορόχρονο. Αυτή τη στιγμή εκπονεί διδακτορική έρευνα στο Central Saint Martins (UAL). Η δουλειά της εξερευνά τις διασταυρώσεις κίνησης, φωνής, μικροβιολογίας και συλλογικών πρακτικών. Εκφράζεται μέσα από performance, Capoeira και site-specific έργα, συχνά με πολιτική διάσταση, καθώς συνεργάζεται με πρόσφυγες και ευάλωτες κοινότητες. Είναι υπότροφος danceWEB (Impulstanz), όπου συνεργάστηκε με τον Lloyd Newson (DV8) στην έρευνα Connecting Meaning to Movement , Turing Scholar και Sacatar Fellow (Bahia), δημιουργώντας έργα σε συνεργασία με τοπικές κοινότητες. Workshop description This physical theatre workshop explores the relationship between voice, text, and movement through an embodied collaborative practice. Drawing from my recent performance work and research developed during my work with Marina Abramovic Institute and my piece NOSTOS along with an MA at The Place (London Contemporary Dance School), the session invites participants to engage in improvisational scores, group exercises, and performative exploration. We will work with the body as a site of expression and listening, exploring how movement, rhythm, and voice can generate shared dramaturgies and collective presence. The workshop is open to actors, dancers, performers, musicians, martial artists, and anyone working with text or interested in interdisciplinary practice. No specific technique is required—just openness to collaboration and experimentation. Short Bio Marianna Sfyridi is a devising performer and researcher based between London, São Paulo and Athens. She holds an MA in Dance Performance from London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) with Distinction, a Masters of Pharmacy from King’s College London and a Dance Degree from Horohronos, and is currently undertaking a practice-based PhD at Central Saint Martins (UAL). Her work explores the intersections of movement, voice, microbiology, and collective practices. She chooses to express through performance, Capoeira and site-responsive work that is often of political nature, as she currently works with refugees and vulnerable groups. She is a danceWEB Impulstanz scholar where she worked with Lloyd Newson (DV8) on R&D on Connecting Meaning to Movement, a Turing UK Scholar and a Sacatar Fellow (Bahia), creating work with local communities.
