Dream Systems brings together a group of 17 artists whose work resonates with the writing of J.G. Ballard. About Dream Systems Friday 13 November – Saturday 5 December 2026 Opening event: Friday 13 November 5:00 – 7:00pm Oriel Canfas 6:00 – 9:00pm Bay Art The exhibition spans two artist-run galleries in Cardiff - BayArt in Cardiff Bay and Oriel Canfas in Canton. Works in the show explore surrealism, collapsing systems, technological isolation, and landscapes as a metaphor for the mind. Depictions of empty abandoned spaces, ghosts of modernist architecture, entropy, cars, traffic, dream imagery, embraced psychoses and environmental crisis. Ambiguous beauty presented in love, sex, violence and death. Partner events The David Cronenberg film adaptation of the Ballard story Crash will be screened at Chapter Arts Centre on 21 November. A short introduction with the exhibition curators will take place beforehand. A radio show of JG Ballard themed music will be broadcast during the run of the exhibition, mixed by Corrado Morgana.
