Echoes of Utopia - Panel Discussion

Join us at Art Forward Gallery for an afternoon conversation with artist Christian Houge and photographer and writer Thaddeus Zupančič, accompanying Houge’s exhibition Echoes of Utopia . Houge will discuss his photographic exploration of the Spomeniks, the striking modernist monuments built across the former Yugoslavia, and the ideas behind his wider practice. He will be joined by Zupančič, whose work and research engage closely with Brutalist and modernist architecture, for a conversation exploring architecture, memory, history and landscape. The discussion will offer an opportunity to hear directly from Houge about his journey through the Balkans, his experience photographing the Spomeniks, and the ways these monumental structures continue to resonate in the present.
