Through this exhibition the Galerie Atelier du Temps presents a unique encounter between a selection of major works of traditional Aboriginal art and recent paintings by Stéphanie Caldy.
The exhibition creates a dialogue between two sensitive approaches to the relationship between humans and the Earth: on the one hand, works rooted in millennia-old cosmologies where the land is memory, narrative, and relationship; on the other hand, the contemporary artistic explorations, where Stephanie Caldy examines the profound connections between matter, life, and perception.
The Story of an Encounter
In early 2026, Sixtine Crutchfield discovered the research conducted by Stéphanie Caldy as part of the Eutierria project, developed in collaboration with Australian philosopher Glenn Albrecht, author of the seminal work The Emotions of the Earth.
In this book, Glenn Albrecht explores the sensitive connections that bind human beings to ecosystems and proposes a new way of understanding contemporary ecological upheavals. In particular, he develops the concept of the Symbiocene, an era in which humanity would rediscover a harmonious and reciprocal relationship with the living world.
Invited to Stéphanie Caldy’s studio, nestled in the forest of the French Jura mountains, Sixtine Crutchfield discovers the works from the Eutierria series. She recognizes a deep resonance with the Indigenous works in her collection: a shared focus on invisible forces, the cycles of life, and the Earth as a relational space.
A dialogue emerges between works rooted in ancestral traditions and a contemporary practice engaged in a reflection on how we inhabit the world.
The Symbiocene Era
“The Emotions of the Earth” invite you on a sensory journey alongside artists who, each in their own way, bear witness to a renewed relationship with the world.

Exploring roots, matter, the cosmos, and the memory of places, the exhibition offers an experience where art becomes a space for reconnection: a place to feel our belonging to the greater community of life.
It aligns with Glenn Albrecht’s vision of a future where the bonds between our psyche and the Earth are reconciled: an era of symbiosis, mindfulness, and care.
