Grace Adam : Lines of Dissent. Drawings and Installation from Residency

Large scale drawings and site specific installation in the 16C non-conformist chapel. About This exhibition is the result of being Artist in Residence for 6 months at the chapel. I have responded to the space, its histories, materials, forms and functions. This means spending time getting to know the building, exploring its histories, seeing it at different times of day and year. Large charcoal drawings and a site-specific installation have emerged from that experience; some observational, some developed back in my studio that move towards abstraction. I’m very interested in our built environments-particularly shared spaces. The buildings we make, change and adapt over decades and centuries and are testament to the lives that are and have been connected to them. ARTIST'S TALK. SUNDAY 27th SEPT. 3PM AT THE CHAPEL. FREE. Come along to see and hear all about the Residency-ideas, process, outcomes. Read more Toggle Drawing Sculpture Installation Architecture Painting
