Harbottle & Jonas - Folk and Poetry Partners in life and music, dynamic Devon based folk duo Harbottle & Jonas are one of the most exciting acts on the UK circuit today, combining a love of the richness of traditional folk with their own original and powerful songwriting. Dave and Freya have developed a distinct and compelling signature sound, blending concertina, harmonium, cittern, stomp box, acoustic guitar and banjo with their beautiful and closely intertwined vocal harmonies. “Spellbinding originals, they will knock your socks off” - Musicians Union “Awash with strong songs & excellent musicianship” - Folk Radio UK Bio | harbottleandjonas They will be joined by Jane Newberry, poet and children's author, who will regale you with querky poems old and new to leave you smiling. St Sampson's are grateful for the support Harbottle & Jonas and Jane Newbery in helping to raise funds for St Sampsons Unlocked project, an ambitious project to improve and restore South Hill church. To fix the roof and ceiling, create a warm meeting space and put in a permanent toilet and kitchen. The organisers all give freely of their time keeping our overheads to a minimum. There will be a licensed bar, soft drinks and snacks. The venue provides a wonderful setting, perfect for enjoying a night of entertainment with friends and family.
