RSVPFive Iranian women artists explore how memory, displacement, and lived experience are carried, transformed, and made visible through art. About I Saw a Woman, Pounding Light into Mortar brings together works by Shaghayegh Cyrous, Nasib Elahimehr, Behnaz and Baharak Khaleghi (BSisters), Narges Poursadeqi, and Ghazal Rahimi. Curated by Katayoun Bahrami, the exhibition brings together Iranian women artists whose practices engage memory, displacement, the body, and lived experience. Across installation, video, sculpture, and mixed media, the artists explore how personal and collective histories are carried, transformed, and made visible. Rather than asking for pity or resolution, their works create spaces for witnessing, resistance, and resilience, revealing how experiences shaped by gender, migration, and political and social realities can become material for artistic expression. I Saw a Woman, Pounding Light into Mortar is presented as part of the FOCA Curators Lab 2026/27. Read more Toggle Mixed media Audio / Sound Sculpture Installation Film / Video Multi-disciplinary
