In the After: A Healing Story Circle: A Return to the Roots with Miguel Rivera and Michael Rey

Presented as part of In the After: A Wildfire Recovery Project, this gathering makes room for the slow work of healing that follows loss. The 2025 Los Angeles wildfires left a lot for people to carry, and recovery takes time. This circle is a place to come together, set some of that weight down for an evening, and spend time with others who understand. Join artists Miguel Rivera and Michael Rey on the Patio by the Hearth for story, breath, and song held in a ritual environment shaped by the elements. Modern life pulls us away from the rhythms of the natural world, and that distance can leave us unmoored at exactly the moment we most need steadying. Warm beverages and refreshments will be shared as the circle opens. Come ready to listen, to offer a story of your own, and to renew a relationship worth sustaining. In the After: A Wildfire Recovery Project is on view at 18th Street Arts Center through December 15. Free and open to the public.
