About event

For the precise dates and information on how to register for the events, please visit: https://de.louisvuitton.com/deu-de/geschaft/deutschland/espace-louis-vuitton-muenchen About InSitu2 brings together the Espaces Louis Vuitton Tokyo, München, and Beijing through a shared programme promoting contemporary creation, thus illustrating Louis Vuitton’s longstanding commitment to the arts as a leading House of Culture. Following IN SITU-1 in 2015, which for the first time united the Espaces Louis Vuitton Paris, Tokyo and München around women artists exploring the notion of locality, InSitu2 invites artists rooted in each city to create original works that celebrate their respective scenes. Through freely accessible performances, artist talks and educational initiatives, the project brings artists, performers and local communities into dialogue across disciplines and geographies, exploring ideas of transformation and cultural exchange. While united by a common framework, each Espace develops a distinct programme shaped by its local context and creative ecosystem. Across three cities, InSitu2 highlights the role of the Espaces Louis Vuitton as living places for dialogue, creativity and cultural engagement. Espace Louis Vuitton München, from October 30 to December 18, 2026, presents InSitu2, exploring Myth through a programme paying tribute to the city of Munich and reimagining the venue’s history as an exhibition space. Centred around the leitmotif of the faun, the project takes inspiration from one of the city’s most iconic artworks: the Barberini Faun, attributed to an unknown ancient sculptor. This masterpiece, created more than 2,000 years ago, is today on view at Munich’s Glyptothek and has become an emblem of the city. The multidisciplinary programme opens with an inaugural lecture by Ulrich Pfisterer and unfolds through different forms of artistic expression within an ever-changing scenography developed by Studio Nitsche and Blitz Club. Through live dance choreographies specifically conceived for the programme, Violetta Keller and Clark Eselgroth, respectively a principal dancer and a soloist of the Bavarian State Ballet, explore themes of the supernatural and of intimacy. Meanwhile Sandra Schwittau, one of Germany’s most renowned voice actresses, brings classical texts to life and Sophia Stolz transforms myth into a culinary performance. The programme also features lectures and conversations with Tom Engels, Regina Höschele, Andrea Lissoni, Saskia Schomber, and Tobias Staab, alongside educational programmes for young audiences running throughout InSitu2.
