LAND OF A MEMORY Private View

Join us at Lewisham Art House for Land of a Memory, an exhibition exploring heritage and resilience. Alongside the Private View, we invite you to a curated 'Coffee & Sketching' workshop using specialty paper, oil pastels, and acrylic pens. About Land of a Memory at Lewisham Art House brings together four artists to explore the fragile architecture of memory through the lens of the child, the family, the body, and the land. ​Spanning oil painting, textiles, and installation, the exhibition transforms experiences of cultural erosion and war into acts of visual resilience. By intersecting Middle Eastern and Western perspectives, these works reclaim silenced voices and navigate the complex search for belonging. Here, memory is treated as a lived, ongoing experience rather than a finished story. From a nurtured plant being cut down to a snake skeleton unearthed in Bahrain, the works echo themes of femininity, loss, and endurance. Viewers are invited to stay with the unresolved, finding a quiet space for reflection within these shared human struggles.
