About event

Join us in welcoming Al Olender back for her first Headlining show on the Lark Hall stage on Saturday, April 25th. Doors 7/Show 8 Songwriter Al Olender tries to grasp the brief, beautiful moments that make up our lives in slow-motion but finds that the tighter she holds on, the more these frames fall into a soupy blur. Change is our only constant, but what if we wanted to steep in the now? What if we could stay right here? Olender captures the anxieties of an ever-moving world with a sweet and silly sincerity on her second full-length album The Worrier , never shying away from staring the truth right in the face. Exploring anxiety, sexuality and anarchy, both in herself and in her relationships, Olender’s acoustic, bluesy melodies point to the butterflies of first crushes, the gut-punching realities of responsibility and the eternal romance of friendship. - Sammy Maine Hooked on a love for live music from an early age, Aubrey Haddard’s roots in the Hudson Valley inspired a lifelong obsession. Highschool evenings were spent doing homework in the passenger seat of her mother’s car to and from gigs in local bars. After starting some bands and entering regional competitions, a gap year in Senegal stoked her passion for both songwriting and teaching, and eventually led her to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Since then, Haddard has released an impressive portfolio of original music. Starting with an acoustic, minimalist debut EP - Adult Lullabies - and claiming Bridging the Music Productions’ Solo Act of the Year, her knotty and soulful followup album Blue Part then received widespread critical acclaim and earned her the titles of Vocalist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year at the 2018 Boston Music Awards and Act of the Year at New England Music Awards. A period of writing and traveling then brought Haddard to France for a residency at Hôtel Sainte Valière, and Oakland, CA for the Zoolabs Music Entrepreneurship Accelerator program, resulting in a series of singles and ultimately the decision to relocate to New York City. Leaning into pop-driven inspirations and the chaos of the NYC scene, Awake And Talking, her second full length LP, proved Haddard’s ability to dive head-first into new sounds and set the stage for a return to her roots in the Hudson Valley. An experimental, electronic project then emerged upon her moving back to Gardiner, NY in 2023 with a debut performance at SXSW. Most recently, Haddard released a solo alt-rock record entitled You Think That’s Air You’re Breathing? that leans on her raw performance power and truth telling to highlight her abilities as a songwriter and producer. Having graced legendary stages like the Hollywood Bowl, Webster Hall, Outside Lands and more, her work as a collaborator rivals that as an independent artist and is most notable as a vocalist for Benny Sings, member of NYC indie psych outfit Psymon Spine. Aubrey Haddard is a rising star and one to watch for those interested in the future of rock music but “above all, it’s humanity that drives Haddard’s art” (Under The Radar).
