Mario Schifano 1960s

The exhibition brings together a selection of fourteen works by Mario Schifano, dating from 1960 to 1967. About "Schifano is the perfect interpreter of his time and, precisely for this reason, through his work he is able to transcend it; he is able to transform an event from the news, or a personal observation of reality, into a universal subject— something that belongs to everyone, because everyone recognises it as their own, as something that had been before their eyes all along, yet remained unseen, until the artist finally brings it to light.” — Marco Meneguzzo, “… perché è umano”, in Mario Schifano 1960–1969 , Vol. I, catalogue raisonné, Skira, 2025.
