MAW by Anna Wittenberg

The opening reception is 7-10pm, 603 N Western Avenue. Wittenberg’s MAW centers on a new, monumental room-sized sonic sculpture consisting of everyday objects equally absurd and banal sourced from the streets of LA. Continuing her investigation of the intersection of domestic detritus and the anatomical systems of respiration and utterance, the artist uses a 20 foot, 5” PVC tube to pierce, penetrate, spit-roast, aspirate and amplify her found media, giving voice to this hybrid body. The presentation features an exhibition text by Nick Herman, Wittenberg’s friend and frequent collaborator. Read more Toggle Mixed media Multi-disciplinary
