RSVPDiscover India’s indigenous art traditions through nine master artisans in Navratna: Indigenous Masters, the inaugural exhibition at Treasure of India, Gurugram. About Navratna: Indigenous Masters From the ancient art of Dokra metal casting to the intricate narratives of Pattachitra and Gond, Navratna: Indigenous Masters brings nine master artisans into focus, foregrounding the living traditions and generational knowledge that shape India’s indigenous art landscape. Curated by art historian Uma Nair, the exhibition inaugurates Treasure of India, a new gallery in Gurugram dedicated to preserving and championing the country’s traditional, tribal and indigenous art forms. Spanning Dokra, Gond, Sohrai, Pattachitra, Kalighat, Pichwai and miniature painting, the exhibition explores the spiritual narratives, distinctive techniques and cultural memory embedded in these practices. Founded by artist Tanisha Bakshi, Treasure of India seeks to advance the recognition and lasting value of indigenous artists. Its accompanying Art Foundation furthers this mission through residencies, workshops and opportunities for artisans to engage with wider audiences and markets.
