NYU MFA Open Studios

The NYU MFA Studio Art Program is an interdisciplinary program with a cohort of 20 students. Our open studios event is an opportunity for students to connect with the NYC community and share what they have been working on during their time in the program. This event is free and open to the public. About The NYU MFA Studio Art Program is an interdisciplinary program that brings together a close-knit cohort of 20 students working across a wide range of media and practices, including painting, sculpture, installation, video, performance, and more. Small by design, the program fosters rigorous critique, meaningful collaboration, and sustained one-on-one engagement with faculty, visiting artists, and peers, all within the creative energy of the East Village. Our open studios event invites the public into the places where the work happens. Students open their studio doors to share works in progress, finished pieces, and experimental ideas developed during their time in the program. Visitors can tour the studios, see the range of approaches taking shape within the cohort, and speak directly with the artists about their processes, influences, and questions. It’s a chance for students to connect with the NYC community, and for neighbors, fellow artists, and curious newcomers to experience contemporary art in the making. We hope to see you there!
