Silent Pressures is an open-ended showcase of three still-developing art-science projects emerging from Otherwise Residency 2026, Marginal's transdisciplinary programme. About Silent Pressures is an open-ended showcase of three still-developing art-science projects emerging from Otherwise Residency 2026, Marginal's transdisciplinary programme bringing artists and researchers together around ecological and climate-crisis-related research. The projects engage with plant metabolisms under abiotic stress, variable potentials of microalgae, and the persistent fugitive methane emissions from the ageing industrial sites in Romania, tracing subtle processes of transformation that unfold beyond human perception. Developed in collaboration with researchers from the Biology Institute Bucharest and 2Celsius, the exhibition of the second run of the residency presents research in progress, experiments, questions and emerging artistic approaches on the pressures acting upon living systems and the environments we share.
