Ronchini presents As Above so Below, the first-ever recreation of Paul Jenkins's landmark 2005 exhibition About Ronchini presents the first-ever recreation of As Above so Below, Paul Jenkins's (1923–2012) site-specific exhibition originally installed at the 12th-century Abbaye de Silvacane in Provence in 2005. Created in dialogue with the abbey's architecture and history, these contemplative abstract paintings are shown together for the first time in a gallery setting, inviting a fresh exploration of the relationship between painting and space. Best known for his Phenomena series, Jenkins developed a distinctive process of pouring and guiding fluid paint to create luminous compositions that explore light, colour, and transparency. Influenced by Eastern philosophy, Jungian psychology, and Abstract Expressionism, his work balances chance with control. Featuring paintings from the final years of the artist's career, the exhibition highlights Jenkins's refined approach to gesture, colour, and materiality. As Above so Below is Ronchini's third solo exhibition of the artist's work and the first at its Conduit Street gallery. Read more Toggle Painting
