RSVPAn evening of creative conversation, bringing together visual artist Olufemi Olaiya for a Photo Talk, alongside a short talk from local photographers Thaïs Verhasselt. About Join Pompey Darkroom for an evening of photographic conversation, exploring the stories, influences and ideas behind the image. Featuring a Photo Talk from visual artist Olufemi Olaiya and a short talk from Portsmouth-based photographer Thaïs Verhasselt . A self-taught visual artist working across portrait, fashion and architectural photography, Olufemi explores storytelling, history and the connections between people and generations. He will share insights into his practice and influences, alongside his latest body of work, Odyssey of Memory: Brick, Brass, Belonging , which explores themes of family, archives and memory. The evening also introduces Turning the Tide , a new programme of 10-minute talks from local photographers, beginning with Thaïs Verhasselt who'll discuss her project, A Fare to Remember . This photographic artist book brings together 50 photographs and 50 stories drawn from her experiences as a Portsmouth bus driver, capturing the everyday encounters and overlooked moments that offer a personal portrait of the city and its people. Whether you're a photographer, artist, student or photography enthusiast, this is your chance to make connections with fellow photographers and artists, find inspiration, and hear from photographers shaping Portsmouth's Photographic scene. This event is part of Photo Fringe 2026 and is kindly supported by Portsmouth Creates, Arts Council England and Portsmouth City Council. Read more Toggle Photography
