Repair Café comes to MAAT

An international community initiative promoting free gatherings where everyday household items can be repaired with help from volunteers and technical experts. About Repair. Learn. Share. The Repair Café is an international community initiative that promotes free gatherings where everyday household items can be repaired with the help of volunteers and people with technical expertise in appliance repair. It functions as an informal space for learning, knowledge-sharing and valuing repair and restoration as an alternative to today's culture of overconsumption. In addition to reducing waste and encouraging sustainability, the Repair Café aims to foster the exchange of skills and strengthen community connections. MAAT joins this initiative, led by ADM Estrela – Associação Social e Desenvolvimento and Zero Waste Lab, inviting visitors to explore the museum's exhibitions while waiting to repair an appliance that may have seemed beyond recovery. At the same time, participants can learn from the volunteer repairers how to diagnose and care for small household appliances. Register here For further information: porta11@admestrela.pt
