Spanning more than 60 works, this exhibition traces years of quiet pilgrimage along the John Muir Trail and its winding offshoots—paths where both artists walked, observed, and listened. Their works gather the breath of the mountains, the shifting light, and the unseen spirits that dwell within the vastness of the Sierra landscape. For over four decades in Northeast Los Angeles, Raoul De la Sota has shaped a practice as a painter, printmaker, and sculptor rooted in reverence for the land. His work pulses with color and movement, offering not just an image of nature, but a devotion to it—a visual language that honors the land as living memory. Trained in drafting and architecture, Katsu Yokoyama approaches his work with a quiet precision. His paintings and works on paper carry a stillness that invites reflection, rendering the natural world with clarity and care. Through his practice, he creates a bridge between landscape and lineage, where nature becomes a reflection of heritage and belonging. Though their approaches differ, together they form a shared chorus—a song of deep love, respect, and awe for the natural world.
