RSVPThe group exhibition for Berlin Art Week presents abstract mixed-media painting by the artists Rolf Behm, Nicola Rubinstein, Jens-Uwe Körber, and Zhao Mengjun. About The group exhibition presents contemporary abstract mixed-media painting within a field of relationships, resonances, and transitions. Meaning unfolds not only within each individual work but also through the dialogue between the different works—between the visible and the invisible. Layered surfaces give rise to traces, overlays, and new spaces of perception. The title of this compelling exhibition proposes a particular mode of viewing by bringing together three interconnected dimensions: the spectrum of distinct artistic positions; the spectral qualities of painting itself—its layering, traces, superimpositions, and manifestations; and, drawing on the thought of the French philosopher Jacques Derrida, the spectral as a condition that oscillates between presence and absence.
