TRIEZE

Five internationally recognised artists ask a simple question: What happens when artists lead the conversation? About As the international art world gathers in London during Frieze Week, TRIEZE returns for its third edition with an independent, artist-led exhibition built around dialogue, accessibility and direct public engagement. Founded by Code FC, Otto Schade and Jay Kaes, and joined in 2026 by Fin DAC and Pez Barcelona, TRIEZE is conceived, financed and directed by artists themselves. The project creates a space in which artists take ownership not only of their work, but also of the conversations surrounding their practice, careers and relationship with the public. Taking over Gallery Different in Fitzrovia from 13–18 October, TRIEZE brings together artists, collectors, curators, institutions and the public during one of the most significant weeks in London’s international art calendar. WHY TRIEZE EXISTS For decades, artists working in public spaces have helped shape contemporary visual culture, influencing everything from advertising and fashion to illustration, design and fine art. Their work reaches millions of people beyond traditional cultural institutions, creating direct relationships with audiences in everyday spaces. Yet many of the artists responsible for this cultural impact remain underrepresented in the conversations that shape institutional recognition, critical discourse and the contemporary art market. Artists can also face an industry where a lack of transparency, unpaid commissions, unreturned artworks and poor professional practices can leave them with limited control over their own work and narrative. TRIEZE is a response to this, but it is not positioned against galleries or institutions. The project stands alongside those who believe in fairness, transparency, respect for artists and honest collaboration. At the same time, TRIEZE aims to bring something fundamental back into the gallery: the direct connection between artists, art and people. By opening the creative process and creating opportunities for conversation, TRIEZE brings artists, collectors, institutions and the public closer to the ideas, decisions and experiences behind the work.
